This policy explains what personal information Scentora collects when you visit our website or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Scentora is a small candle brand based in Chennai, India, run by Vijayaraj. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Scentora.
What we collect
- Contact details: the email address or mobile number you give at checkout.
- Delivery details: your name, delivery address, PIN code and phone number. If you send an order to someone else, we also collect the recipient’s name, address and phone number.
- Order details: what you bought, the amount paid, the date and the delivery status.
- Messages: anything you send us through the contact form, email or phone.
- Account details: if you choose to save your information, we create an account with your email address and a password you set.
- Technical data: basic information your browser sends, such as IP address and browser type, and the cookies described below.
We do not see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Payments are handled by our payment partner, Cashfree Payments.
How we use it
- To process and deliver your order, and to contact you about it.
- To handle returns, refunds, replacements and questions.
- To send you news and offers by email or SMS, only if you have agreed to receive them (see “Marketing” below).
- To keep the records we are required to keep by law, such as tax and accounting records.
- To keep the website secure and working properly, and to prevent fraud.
Who we share it with
We share only what each partner needs to do their job:
- Cashfree Payments, to process your payment securely.
- Courier and delivery partners: your name, delivery address and phone number, so they can deliver your order.
- Service providers who host our website and send our emails and messages.
- Government or legal authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Marketing
At checkout you can choose to receive news and offers by email, by SMS, or both. You can change your mind at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to any SMS, or write to us at contact@thescentora.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect your orders.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that the shop needs to work, such as remembering what is in your bag and keeping you signed in. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. We keep marketing preferences until you unsubscribe. Other information is deleted or anonymised when we no longer need it for the purposes above.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update it;
- delete it, where we are not required by law to keep it;
- stop using it for marketing.
To make a request, contact our Grievance Officer (details below). We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
We use secure (HTTPS) connections and trusted partners for payments and hosting, and we limit who can access your information. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
Children
Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
